When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Since I can remember I’ve always wanted to work in healthcare. As a child I wanted to be a doctor or a nurse and I studied sports medicine in college. My goal was to be an orthopedic PA but my career path landed me in sales and marketing in the healthcare industry, which ended up being a perfect fit!

What would you do if you didn’t work in healthcare?

I would probably be a detective of some sort, I’ve always loved trying to solve problems.

What do you like most about working in healthcare marketing?

It’s incredibly rewarding to work in healthcare marketing because I get to spend my days figuring out how to best connect patients with brands, products and services that can make a positive difference in their lives.

What frustrates you most about working in healthcare marketing?

Nothing really frustrates me — it can be a highly regulated industry but I find that to be more interesting. Just another problem you need to figure out how to solve.

Who was your mentor? What made her or him an effective mentor?

Pat McGloin — my current manager — has been the most influential mentor to me in my career. I have never had anyone believe in me, support me or advocate for me more than Pat. He has such vast experience in the category and our industry, he is so knowledgeable — I’ve learned so much from him in the last four years. I’m beyond grateful to have had this opportunity to work for and with him.

What are you doing to mentor others — to send the career ladder back down, so to speak?

My greatest pleasure and fulfillment comes from mentoring and supporting others. I believe in servant leadership, keeping my door always open to everyone, transparent and honest conversations and genuine and authentic relationships — whether for my team, someone in my organization, a family member or friend of a friend — I truly love being there to support, guide and advocate for others.

What’s something your colleagues don’t know about you?

Probably nothing, haha, because I’m an open book.

What are the three things in your daily workspace that you can’t live without?

Ice coffee, my Great Dane, Bella, and good vibes.

What is your favorite book (or TV show, movie, band or song)? What about it resonates strongly with you?

I can’t really narrow down one TV show, movie or song so I’ll say U2 is my favorite band. I love all kinds of music — and honestly, mostly country music now — but there is something special about a U2 song. Every song they put out always seems to just go right through me.

What’s on your to-do list for when you retire?

Last year my husband and I bought a boat — the Sea Benny. When we retire we will be taking it up and down the east coast just enjoying life on the ocean, in the sun and with our family.
