When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A fashion designer! I spent most of my time drawing and loved all things fashion. In college, I learned how to sew and created many of my own crazy get-ups (Harem pants? Yes!) back in the early ’80s.

Describe your job in 10 words or fewer.

I help create healthcare content that educates, uplifts and motivates.

What do you like most about working in healthcare marketing?

The incredible opportunity we have to make a difference. Whenever we hear from a reader who’s learned something from one of our guides or other products, I’m always moved.

What would you do if you didn’t do what you do?

If I could do it all over again, I would pursue psychology. As a humanities person, I was a little daunted by the deep biology and chemistry requirements. Little did I know I’d spend many years devoted to healthcare journalism — bio by default!

Pick one: In-office, hybrid or remote work? Why would that be your choice?

I’m a fan of the hybrid model. The camaraderie at Health Monitor is terrific, and our colleagues are smart and fun, so it’s always great to connect in person. On the other hand, work-at-home days give you the chance to focus and build in some self-care — whether it’s squeezing in a workout or having extra time for meal prep.

What’s something your colleagues don’t know about you?

I won a talent show in the fifth grade — by playing Für Elise a whole octave higher than written. Oops.

What are the three things in your daily workspace that you can’t live without?
My laptop. My Rutgers coffee mug. My laptop.

Where do you want to be, professionally and personally, 10 years from now?

Splitting my time between NYC and somewhere in Italy — with loved ones and lots of books, wine and good food to go around — and painting pet portraits for fun.
