NORTHBROOK, IL: Astellas Pharma has brought on Joseph Devaney as VP of government affairs and policy.

Based in Washington, D.C., he will lead Astellas’ government affairs and policy team and report to Jeffrey Winton, SVP of corporate affairs. Devaney is replacing Martin Golden, who was named head of global marketing strategy in March.

The pharma company expanded Winton’s role last year to include government and corporate affairs.

Devaney will be responsible for Astellas’ federal and state government strategies, engagement activities, and policy development in the Americas. He will also represent the pharma company to policymakers and trade organizations.
