At press time, advocacy groups and physicians were calling on the Office of Management and Budget to release final regulations for the Physician Payments Sunshine Act.

The law, which requires drugmakers to expose their financial ties with doctors, was passed as part of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 but it has yet to be implemented. The advocacy groups included AARP and the AFL-CIO.

Echoing the push, a quintet of high-profile doctors wrote the White House, “We are now more than 15 months past the deadline for the final rule, making it unlikely that the public will have access to these data before 2015.”
