A survey of 971 physicians showed that, while most (84%) said they would prefer to take CME training online, only 6.4% actually participate in virtual training or any type of virtual event very often.
Also in the study, conducted by online events producer ON24 and interactive firm MedData Group, 75.5% of doctors said they had observed an increase in the number of such virtual events, and nearly all respondents (96.1%) said they see benefits to the medium, namely convenience.
In other news, PharmaVoxx found on-demand med-ed programs, including webcasts and audiocasts, were the second largest subset of med-ed activity in 2011 (see Med Ed Report 2012 on p. 52 of this issue for more data).
