The presidents of the 2024 Cannes Lions pharma, health and wellness juries have been unveiled.

Collette Douaihy, global chief creative officer of health at Dentsu Health, will serve as the Pharma Lions President.

Additionally, Wendy Chan, health creative lead for Asia Pacific (APAC) at Edelman, will serve as the Health & Wellness Lions President. Chan is one of six Lions presidents based in APAC, which the organization noted is the highest in the event’s history.

“Our Jury Presidents play a crucial role in the existence of the Lions,” Simon Cook, CEO of Lions, said in a statement Thursday. “Their knowledge, skills and incredible talent, combined with the commitment and leadership that they will bring to their roles, bring integrity and rigour to the Lions. This is an exceptional line-up of talent from across the world, and we can’t wait to see the work that rises to the top in June.”

The annual international advertising confab will take place from June 17 through June 21. Submissions for the Lions are open until April 11 and the shortlisted candidates will be announced later in the spring.

Douaihy’s appointment as president of the Pharma Lions comes after her team enjoyed a successful trip to the French Riviera, earning the Pharma Lions Grand Prix for the experimental, AI-based app Scrolling Therapy

Launched for Brazil-based pharma company Eurofarma last spring, Scrolling Therapy aims to help people with Parkinson’s slow down the progression of the disease while they scroll through social media.

The app is designed to enable users to control their scroll using facial expressions and exercise their muscles in an attempt to possibly delay the hallmarks of the incurable, neurodegenerative disease.

In an appearance on The MM+M Podcast last summer, Douaihy spoke about the conception and execution of Scrolling Therapy, what it means for the Parkinson’s community and how it felt to take home the Grand Prix.

“This was, in the history of my career, the most collaborative, productive short-timeline and well-produced piece I have ever worked on,” she said. “I was blown away by the team’s dedication to wanting this to come together and I think that’s the lesson learned: if you’re in it to win it you will.”
